Vader's pyre, and for a moment it infuriates her, that bewildered, exhausted grief she sees in Luke's face.

This is the gift she wants - her brother, her valiant brother, and the word is sweet on her tongue - and the price she doesn't want to pay, the legacy she doesn't want to accept. Her father's body is burning, and she’s glad.

This is an absolutely beautiful just post-canon fic exploring both Leia's newfound feelings for Luke as her sibling and the disconnection and hatred she feels for Vader. Really lovely prose and beautiful descriptions.

This is a great, intriguing mystery with some really good prose and very well-drawn OCs, and a tone and style that definitely recalls Tolkien's work.
